Students planning to appear for the upcoming IGNOU Term-End Examinations (TEE) should take note that exam participation is provisional and dependent on the fulfillment of the following key conditions:

Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Course Registration Validity: You must be currently registered in the course(s) and your registration should not have expired.
  2. Assignment Submission: All required assignments should have been submitted on time for each applicable course.
  3. Minimum Study Period: You should have completed the minimum required duration for each course as specified in your programme.
  4. Exam Fee Payment: Examination fees must be paid for every course you intend to write in the TEE.
  5. Result Withholding: If any of the above conditions are not met, the university reserves the right to withhold results for the concerned courses.

General Instructions:

  1. Exam Timing: Examinations are conducted in two sessions daily:
    • Morning: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    • Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
      Note: The actual exam duration for each paper will be mentioned on the question paper.
  2. Hall Tickets: Eligible students can download their hall tickets from the official IGNOU website. Stay updated regularly and follow all instructions printed on the hall ticket.
  3. Exam Centre Changes: Due to unforeseen situations, exam centres might be changed at the last minute. Affected students should stay in contact with their respective Regional Centres for updates.
  4. Language Policy: Answers must be written in the language(s) in which the programme is offered. Submissions in any unauthorized language will be rejected without notice. However, students may opt to answer in Hindi even if enrolled in English-medium courses (excluding language-based courses).

Objective Type Exams:

The following programmes and courses will follow a Multiple Choice/OMR-based format:

  • Programmes: BDP, BTS, BCA, BSW, CLIS, CBS, DVAPFV, DDT, DMT, DWM
  • Courses: BSHF101, FST01, BLI011–BLI014, PCO1, BEVAE181, BSSS183 (CBCS)

Special Notes:

  • BNS041 & BNS042: Will follow a descriptive format.
  • CRD, PGDRD, MARD (from June 2024): Students can write their papers in Bengali. Eligible courses include MRD201 to MRDP205.
  • MPH002 & MPH003 and MPH013 & MPH014: These will be conducted together in a single 3-hour slot, each with its own question paper and answer booklet (1.5 hours per course).

Exam Date & Session Clashes:

No changes or exceptions will be made if two or more of your courses are scheduled at the same time under the following conditions:

  1. Grouped Courses: Certain courses under BDP and CBCS are grouped (Group 1 to Group 6). All courses in the same group will be held on the same day and session.
  2. FYUP Disciplines: Students may choose three disciplines from different groups only, one per group. Overlapping exams due to choosing from the same group will not be rescheduled.

Groupings for Various Programmes:

  • Old BDP/CBCS Groups include subjects like English, Hindi, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, History, Mathematics, etc.
  • FYUP (Undergraduate) is divided into 5 subject groups for both Arts and Science streams, e.g.:
    • Group-1: English, Hindi, Urdu
    • Group-2: Sociology, Sanskrit, Education
    • Group-3: Public Administration, Mathematics
    • Group-4: Philosophy, Economics, History
    • Group-5: Psychology, Geology

Important Notes on Scheduling:

  • Backlog Courses: Students appearing for backlog papers from previous years must note that date clashes will not be resolved.
  • Cross-Programme Exams: Overlapping schedules between different programmes or specializations (e.g. in MP) will also not be adjusted.

Final Note:

The duration of each exam will be clearly indicated on the question paper. Make sure to read all instructions carefully and plan accordingly to avoid any last-minute issues.
